Fight back against (((Streaming))) Empire by becoming a pirate!
Why become a "pirate"?
I have many reasons I prefer to become a chad pirate over depressed streaming services user. I can do whatever I want with my movies, books,
TV shows, video games, and many more so, nobody but I have control over these ones. Additionally, I didn't like the fact that these services
remove a certain movie from their sites. This movie may only exist in a different streaming site so, that means we have to create another account
from other streaming service just to waste our money to watch possibly absolutely rubbish movie! I believe that if we decide to become "pirate" to
fight back against (((them))), we would strike their profits and thus, to lose their businesses but, that would be very difficult to achive though.
These streaming services may put censorship on some action movies I would love to watch which annoy me. So, I think previous reasons are pretty reasonable
to become a "pirate". Now, I will teach you how to use a software to download things you would like to collect. However, in order to ensure that your location
won't reveal to the public eyes, make sure to use your preferred VPN. In my case, I use Mullvad VPN, a virtual private network that respect your privacy (I mean
it, actually) so check this out: Mullvad VPN. If for any reason that you couldn't connect to this website, use your mobile
hotspot just in case that you get blocked by your ISP Wi-Fi. But, you are welcome to use any VPNs. Though, don't ever download "free" VPNs from Google Play or other
applications store as they are shady, collecting your personal information without your permission. So, PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DOWNLOAD THESE SHADY VPNS!!!
Once you get your VPN, you're already closer to a pirate! Now, it is time to teach you to become a pirate.
Bittorrent class
First of all, let's understand Bittorrent. It is a network communication protocol that use both TCP (Transport Control Protocol) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol)
for peer-to-peer file sharing. Using TCP for Bittorrent ensure there is reliable data during a transmission which is very important for the intergrity of the files that
share among users. For UDP, it isn't actually UDP but rather, uTP (Micro Transport Protocol). It is to ensure that it allows Bittorrent to use more efficient use of bandwidth
and more network traffic control too (source 1). So, TCP is for collecting and loading ton of tiny
pieces of data between peers while UDP is for between peers and trackers. Trackers is just a file-sharing server where users get torrents from. These torrents can be websites
such as this: 1337x to download any torrents you like to get. Torrents is usually a metadata file where it acts as a index or table of contents
to allows computers to collect the information through the use of a torrent client (source 2). In other words,
Bittorrent allow everyone to share their stuff with each other through the Internet with their torrent client software such as qBittorrent and uTorrent (a proprietary software
which I don't recommend...).
qBittorrent Tutorial
To explain what qBittorrent is, qBittorrent is a open-source client software that use C++ to run it. Based on my experience, qBittorrent is pretty easy to use, lightweight, and has a massive
range of supported extensions. You can install it in many operating systems such as GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, macOS, and W*ndows. In my case, I usually download it via a packeage manager in GNU/Linux since
it is stable and "just works" but, you are free to download it with any methods you prefer. For those who use W*ndows, you can simply download qBittorrent from their official website:
qBittorrent Download, and I think you run it via .exe after you click a downloadable file if I am correct. Correct me if I am wrong! There, you are now a user of qBittorrent.
1) After you download qBittorrent, before you collect torrents, make sure to get your own local storage so, that could be either HDD (Hard Disk Drive) or SSD (Solid-State Drive). Though, I prefer to use
HDD as they are cheaper and much more stable to keep going. There is plenty of online websites that sell these drives such as Scan (Scan website) which is where I bought
my new HDD and, it is still working fine.
2) When you plug your drive to your PC/laptop, create three folders/directories that is for organising your stuff in your local drive. Name them as "Not successful", "Sucessful", and "Torrents".
Torrents folder is where you'd put your downloadable torrents in it, collecting metadata information from other peers. Unsuccessful folder is a place where your torrents isn't ready to complete the
downloading yet, basically keep your progress safe. Finally, Successful folder is "the end of the beginning" for your torrents where you can now enjoy your complete stuff! Worth to notice: if you want to
save your torrents after completed the download, then create another folder in "Torrents" folder called "torrent-files" or however you want to name it. You will see soon... Then, you create as much folders
as you want in your "Torrents", "Unsuccessful", and "Sucessful" folders. For me, I created four folders called "Movies", "Books", "Games", and "TV-Shows" in each folder. Basically, you copy your preferred folders
and paste it to "Torrents", "Unsuccessful", and "Successful" folders.
Figure 1: Muh storage folders/directories.
3) In qBittorrent, go to "Preferences" (it should look like a blue gear wheel or similar gear wheel) and, click "Downloads" on your left side. Scroll down until you see "Saving Management" box.
You should see "Default Save Path" to change it to your storage. Just click a folder icon beside it and, click your storage from your actual folder but, before your three folders. In my case, I created a main
folder called "qBittorrent" as you can see figure 1 previously. Simple, right? We are not far done with it yet!
4) Still in a same box, go to "Use another path for incomplete torrents". Do the same with previous step but, this time, click your "Unsuccessful" folder to save your unfinished torrents.
5) ...SAME BOX AGAIN!!! Go to "Copy .torrent files to:" which is literally below a incomplete torrents path in a previous step. Same method as usual, click a folder icon and go to your "torrents-files"
folder from step 2.
6) Move to "Automatically add torrents from:" box, it is where it make your life much easier by simply add your torrents to "Torrents" folder to automatically download it! First of all, click "Add" to create
each folder you wish to download. Click each folder in "Torrents" folder. Once you're done with it, you should see your "Watched Folder Options" right after you click your category folder. If it doesn't appear,
click your created folder from a box and, click "Options" box. Here is figure 2 to show you what does my Watched Folder Options for my "Games" folder look like:
Muh watched folder options for Games.
7) This is important step. Go to "BitTorrent" in "Preferences", and tick the box on "Enable anonymous mode" to protect your identify from a BitTorrent traffic whenever you're downloading. This is just
a extra layer of privacy but, it is recommend to use VPN during your BitTorrent download time. See more information for this.
8) When you apply the same options but different path to your each category folder in "Torrents" folder, you're now ready to download torrents and add it to your qBittorrent! So, if you download torrents
from, say, movies websites, you should put movie torrents in your "Movies" folder in "Torrents" folder. Thus, it should be able to automatically download your favourite movie. Enjoy it!
Now, this is very very important to know as well. Don't you ever dare to get rid of your torrent once it is finished! If you remove it after you right click and delete it, you consider as a "leecher".
Basically, you don't want to share your torrent to anyone who would like to download a same torrent as you. So, it is recommend to leave it alone. Don't worry, you won't show your sensitive information to
other people if you use VPN and follow my steps above. Another term to know about BitTorrent is "seeding". It is a term for sharing your torrents after you finish downloading it. It is how we manage to get our
stuff from this. We literally download things from other people! This is part of beauty behind BitTorrent, working together with other people who share the same interest as you.
