"Why would you disagree with them? AI does change the world quite dramatically!"
You heard me. I didn't like those who thought they change the world by simply creating a stupid "AI" that only provide a single purpose or barely a few things that it can do.
However, I do agree that general AI, also known as AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) does actually put the work to our life such as robots in Japan to support elderly people and using AI to help doctors to find 1st stage cancer before it can grow from patients' body in more accurate way.
Let's put this aside now and talk about my reason I hate people such as Sam Altman and Mustafa Suleyman who force us to create a term for their LLM (Large-Language Model) to become AI.
No, I will never ever say your LLM as AI. I will keep calling it as absolutely rubbish nonsense trash LLM.
Why?
BECAUSE ALL THIS LLM DO IS TO COPY AND PASTE THE INFORMATION IN A CHAT PROMPT FROM THE INTERNET. Literally, there are many cases that these LLMs scrap human's valuable information and put these data into a process between Machine Learning and billions of parameters. Then, it will provide complete own words in front of a user.
Am I impressed by it? NAH. I see way better AI than this "AI" before...
That's why I couldn't stand those people when they force their "AI" to put their consumers' throats up which, in result, cause many negative consequnces. Well well, why am I not surprised... :)
Perfect example for above one is a single forbidden word: WINDOWS!!!!!!
Oh yes, Infamous Operating System that dominate the PC/laptop market in the world. Yet, they decided to mess it up once again by ADDING A STUPID LLM TO THEIR OS.
I don't see any benefit for them to add such waste to OS other than spying on their users and make their experience even worse! Good thing that I switch to GNU/Linux a few years ago.
Even Mustafa Suleyman say himself that he doesn't understand why users absolutely hate his Co-Pilot, another LLM that try to keep up with the silly race of AI including Google, OpenAI, Deepmind (Part of Google now, I believe), Amazon, Anthropic, Apple, and many more. Too many to name, anyway.
That's why I got my "AI" fatigue whenever I see any LLM on news, I am not impressed anymore. It is just the same old stupid technology...
Of course, I still like to learn more about technology to keep up the trends based on news I search up to ensure I understand the risks of it in terms of online security. It is just that I don't get those tech-crazy people who'd hype up these LLM whenever there is any trend "new LLM". Well, perhaps they see this LLM as another way to make profits off from users' mental health such as creating LLM to build romantic relationships with physical users.
Result? Users' mental health got worse and become more and more anti-social with other humans which could put the risk on the future of the world. I fear that if this keep up, there may be a dystopian world as what 1984 by George Orwell would predict. Basically, this mean Big Tech companies would be able to observe users' actvity without their consent while causing mental problems to users as well.
There is much more disadvantages than advantages when it comes to using LLM in any topics. It won't make you smarter, obviously. You just look for a lazy and shortcut way to learn in a short time which you will forget later on.
Here is my actual experience: I actually used LLM to provide me a Python code for one of my univeristy assignments. Then, when I copy and paste it in my code, I realised that LLM made mistakes on its code. For example, it doesn't understand what I asked it to provide a small code for my large code. I even asked it to take a look at my code and yet, LLM doesn't even understand my whole code. Battle-brother, how come it doesn't understand my code when I clearly explain my issue to it. This is where I have enough of it and simply use an actual and proper tool, Search Engine. What is it? A better LLM, DUH.
Sure, it took me about 30 mins just to find a specific code I was looking for. But, I noticed that it help me to become more discipline and force myself to learn what I find information from the Internet. Therefore using LLM make you become lazier and doesn't use/improve your critical thinking. Then, you will realise that you don't even remember you do put certain question in it.
Another issue with LLM is that there is no way to know if (((them))) keep our chat logs, stored in their servers to train their "AI". That is pretty concerning for our privacy rights despite the fact that "AI" companies claim that they don't collect our chat logs to train these stupid LLMs. This is pretty obvious lie from (((them))).
There you go, this is just my rant about "AI" aka LLM post. I want to express my concern on our world's future for LLM and other malicious technology. I'm very worried about our future generation when there is always AI on every single application/website, especially Social Media and Search Engine. This could become a serious matter for goverments to talk about in the future. I hope they take this very seriously but, I already don't have faith in governments though.
Thanks for reading my rant.
